Craft Pom Poms come in different sizes from 1/2 inch to 2 inch size. We got a bag of them from Craftprojectideas.com. Thank you Craftprojectideas.com! We made the birthday card with Pom poms and pipe cleaner. When we were in India, CJ and my niece used the tiny and the medium size pom poms to create cards for my elder brother.
The card is simple to make and can also be made for Mother's Day. I gave them the bag of Pom poms and let them play around to create the card. CJ asked me to help but my niece said she will come up with her own creation. So I suggested CJ to create a flower design. She made the below card. CJ also wrote the words, "Happy Birthday Mama" MAMA is maternal uncle in Tamil - our native language(mother tongue).
The below card is my niece's creativity, she glued the pom poms in random. Isn't that cute.
The pom pom creatures with two tiny pom pom eyes, gave me the idea to create the cute little chicken.
Materials Used:
Craft Pom Poms(1/2 inch and 1 inch)Chenille stems/Pipe cleaners
Construction paper
No run Elmer's glue
Child safe scissors
Steps Overview:
- Fold the construction paper in half to create a card.
- Glue the pom poms on the paper to form a flower shape.
- Cut pipe cleaner for stem and leaf. Bend one half to form a leaf shape. Glue the stem and the leaf on the paper below the flower
- For the chicken, glue the two big pom poms for head and body. Glue two black tiny pom poms for eyes(I have used blue) and orange for the beak. Two tiny orange pom poms for the feet
