Rainbow Pumpkin

Paint a pumpkin Rainbow colors
My little girl got a glittered pumpkin from her school. She had painted the pumpkin and sprinkled glitter all over the pumpkin. We wanted the pumpkin to dress up a table in our living room but the glitters where falling all over the living room. I thought of repainting the pumpkin without glitters. Washed the pumpkin, left it to dry and then I made her to paint a rainbow pumpkin. Starting with red color she painted each vertical section of the pumpkin with other rainbow colors: orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. we repeated the same pattern until all sections of the pumpkin were covered. After the rainbow colors were done, I made her to paint the stem of the pumpkin White.

Rainbows are my little girl's favorite at the moment. She was excited with esteem when her artwork was completed and displayed. For me this simple activity became a easy way to teach the rainbow colors and the order of their occurrence.

  1. Great idea for something the kids can help with!

  2. What a great way to reuse that pumpkin! And it's always fun when the kiddos can get involved, too. Thanks so much for linking up!

  3. Good project for kids and very colourful too.

  4. wonderful idea! thanks so much for sharing on Craft Schooling Sunday!

  5. I love the rainbow colors on the pumpkin... not something you see every day. Great idea to go with what she loves!
