Packing Peanut Wall art

We made a recycled wall art for the Heart Project!

Packing Peanut Wreath and a recycled wall art

We are excited to participate in the Collaborative Heart Project Fundraiser organized and led by Jaime, Hands on as we grow. The Fundraiser project is to raise funds for the American Heart Association [AHA].

70+ bloggers have collaborated together to bring you a beautiful book of heart projects! The book includes 100+ Heart projects. More info to come in my next exclusive post.
When I read about the heart project event, I sent some of our old posts pertaining to hearts to Jamie. She liked our Packing peanut wreath and asked me to sent a better resolution picture. That gave me an idea to create a new packing peanut Wall art for Valentine's day.

Materials Used:

Heart Wreath:

Packing Peanuts
Pipe cleaners
Red Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush

Butterflies:

Styrofoam Egg cartons
Acrylic paint
Pony beads
Elmer no run glue
Paint Brush

Wall Art:

Foam Display board
Heart Doily
Empty Tissue paper box
Pony beads
Sticko Butterfly stickers
Mod podge Puzzle saver or Elmer no run glue

Flurry of Snowflakes:
Pipe cleaners
Acrylic paint

Steps Overview:

Heart Wreath

String packing peanuts with Pipe cleaner. Attaching pipe cleaners as you go until the desired length is reached.

Paint the string of packing peanuts with Red Acrylic paint. Let it dry.

Bend the string of packing peanuts and form a Heart shape.

Using Mod podge puzzle saver, glue the heart shape to the center of the display foam board. The heart wreath was quiet big and the center of the heart looked empty. So I added a Heart doily in the center. CJ made a heart out of tissue paper box cardboard and she wanted to glue that to the center of the heart doily. We got a Family of hearts, Heart in Heart, Heart in heart. When I told that to CJ, She instantly told "Mommy, Can we make a family of Butterfly to go with the heart wreath". That sounded like a wonderful idea.

We made a family of Styrofoam Egg carton Butterflies, Daddy, Mommy and Baby.

After doing a brainstorming where to attach the butterflies, CJ decided they have to go below the wreath.

I glued the butterflies using Mod podge Puzzle saver.

When I displayed the board on the wall, I felt something was missing!

Lot of empty space surrounding the Wreath and so we made a flurry of Snow flakes to give a dreamy look! The Snowflake prints were made using pipe cleaner snow flakes.

We added few Sticko butterfly stickers surrounding the heart doily and Oh my! I just love the final Wall art!

CJ proudly displaying her Wall art!

The Heart project displayed on my work table, We just adore our Heart work! What do you say?
