Blouse Makeover - What a difference!

I made this Blouse Makeover for my little princess, 2 1/2 yrs old(CJ)

CJ got this blouse as a gift around a year ago and this project has been in my mind for quiet a long time. I wished to create a embroidery pattern and was just thinking, thinking what type of stitches to do. The other day while organizing the closet, found a dress that CJ had outgrown. The dress was not in good shape to be given to Charity. But the butterfly embroidery in the outgrown dress was perfect for an applique. Cut the butterfly scraps from the dress as shown below(sorry for the blurred picture)

Hand stitched the Butterfly scraps on to the blouse by doing a back stitch. Accidentally I cut the antennae of the Butterfly scraps so I made back stitch embroidery antennae. Made few buttonhole flowers to go with the Butterfly, got the tutorial for Buttonhole Flowers from Hand embroidery network site.

Still something was missing! The Neck was looking very empty.

Recently I saw Buttonholed Herringbone Stitch in Hand embroidery network and felt it was a perfect one for the Neck. The tutorial for Buttonholed Herringbone Stitch is available here.

I love the way it turned out! My little princess loves it too:-)
