Flowery pockets

I was inspired by the Pocket full of posies tutorial at Ruffles and Stuff Blog. Disney of Ruffles and stuff had added denim pockets to a plain dress and added flowers to the pockets. I took a plain dress which already had pockets and transformed it into a flowery dress by adding few flower embellishments to the pockets.

In an effort to reuse and recycle the fabric from a old stocking and a stained dress, I used them to create the fabric flowers

I made the fabric flowers as in my previous post - Semicircle fabric flowers with slight variations.

For the flower petals I used white fabric circles, 2" diameter and cream fabric circles, 2" diameter

From the previous tutorial
After the below step

Tie both the ends of the thread to make a circle of petals.

Instead of the below striked step, follow the lines below
After securing the threads together, cut out the remaining string
Secure the threads together without detaching the needle. Place the flowers where you want them to be. I placed a flower 2 inch above each pocket and a flower on the top. Secure the flower by stitching it at the place. Stitch buttons in the center of the flowers.

Mark the stems with a Marker/Pen. Sew on a Stem Stitch or a Simple back stitch on the marked lines. I even stitched a small strip of fabric for leaves.

Dress makeover -Make facbric flowers and attach them to pockets
